Delegations Advisor – 3 yr Fixed Term .5FTE

Location: Whangarei, Northland Region

Reports To: Initially to the CEO, then Head of Investment

Are you passionate about promoting regional investment and fostering strong international relationships? Do you excel in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and managing complex logistics? We are looking for a dedicated Delegations Advisor to join Northland Inc's Investment Team and help showcase Northland as an investment-ready region.

About the Role

As the Delegations Advisor, you will be the key point of contact for managing and coordinating inward international and national delegations visiting Northland. Your efforts will ensure a professional, cohesive, and memorable experience for visitors, aligning with regional development goals and creating tangible investment opportunities.

Key Outcomes:

· Develop and implement a regional process for delegation handling in collaboration with all four Northland councils.

· Coordinate all aspects of delegation hosting, including logistics, itineraries, and cultural protocols, ensuring respectful and secure visits.

· Engage with iwi, hapū, and Māori business networks to incorporate Māori partnerships and opportunities.

· Conduct pre-visit screening to verify delegation credentials and manage risk.

· Support the Investment Team by profiling delegations' interests and matching them with regional projects and businesses.

· Lead post-visit follow-up, helping turn visitor interest into lasting investment partnerships.

· Maintain comprehensive delegation records and support reporting on outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

· Proven experience in event, project, or delegation coordination, ideally within economic development or government.

· Strong organizational, logistical, and stakeholder management skills.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultural and organizational contexts.

· Sound understanding of investment attraction and regional development processes.

· Discretion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.

· Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
