Mo te tūranga | About the Role
You're probably someone who loves diving into complex problems and finding innovative solutions. As an Associate Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing models that help us better understand our customers and drive business decisions. You'll work on exciting projects like predictive modelling, customer segmentation, and churn modelling, using techniques like statistical and machine learning to power processes and uncover advanced insights.
You'll be part of a dynamic team that's passionate about using data science to drive customer outcomes. You'll work collaboratively with other Data Scientists and stakeholders, and champion the use of new tools and techniques to solve business problems.

As a curious and passionate data science enthusiast, here's what you bring to the table:
- Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels without relying on hierarchy - you're a natural collaborator who can build strong relationships and influence others without needing to rely on title or authority.
- Good problem-solving skills - you're a creative problem-solver who can break down complex issues into manageable parts and develop innovative solutions.
- Passion for your domain of expertise and highly inquisitive - you're a lifelong learner who's always looking to improve your skills and knowledge, and you're passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest developments in your field.
- Proficiency in at least one common data science language such as Python and R - you're proficient in at least one data science language, and you're always looking to expand your toolkit.
- Exposure to notebook environments such as Jupyter Notebook, Apache Zeplin, RStudio or Databricks - you're familiar with notebook environments and can use them to develop and share insights.
- Understanding of key concepts of Statistics and Statistical and Machine Learning techniques - you have a solid grasp of statistical and machine learning concepts, and you know how to apply them to real-world problems.
- Outcome orientated, persistence to challenge the status quo and deliver customer results - you're driven by a desire to deliver results that make a real difference for our customers, and you're not afraid to challenge the status quo to achieve your goals.
