Role Description

BusinessDesk is seeking a full-time Data Journalist to join our team. The Data Journalist will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing complex datasets to produce compelling news stories. This role involves collaborating with editors and reporters to develop data-driven content, extracting insights, and presenting information in a clear and engaging manner for our audience. Daily tasks will include researching data sources, cleaning and verifying data, and identifying trends to create meaningful narratives.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Data Analysis, Data Visualization, and Data Management
  • Journalistic skills, including Writing, Research, and Storytelling
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, Python, R, or other data-related software
  • Ability to translate data insights into clear, reader-friendly content
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with economics, finance, or public policy is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Data Science, or a related field
