**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
As a research nurse you will be working on a Rheumatology HRC-funded randomised controlled trial (RCT). The aim of the study is to compare a protocol-driven dose escalation strategy based on a predicted dose from the allopurinol dosing model (Easy-Allo strategy) with the current best practice nurse-led intensive treat-to-target strategy in people with gout. The study nurses will be responsible for the day to day running of the study in Auckland, in collaboration with other members of the research team.
As a Research Nurse you will:
- Be responsible for study engagement, recruitment, consent (as delegated) and protocol delivery for the trial
- Co-ordinate and liaise with members of the clinical trial team
- Be responsible for data collection, including some data entry
- Act as an educational resource for study participants and whānau
- Ensure adherence to and knowledge of International Conference of Harmonisation (ICH)and New Zealand Good Clinical Practice (NZGCP) guidelines when undertaking the clinical trial
- Represent and promote the project at appropriate research forums

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Registered with the NZ Nursing Council with a current annual practicing certificate
- Fluent in a Pacific language or Te Reo Māori
- Critical thinking ability and solid commitment to building strong relationships with patients and colleagues from all backgrounds is important
