Waitemata District is the largest DHB in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 630,000 living in the North and West of Auckland. Comprised of two sites, and over 1000 beds, our hospitals are located close to the heart of Auckland City and are within minutes of beautiful beaches.

Our Renal Service provides the full range of renal services with the exception of the acute aspects of renal transplantation (which remains at the Auckland Regional Transplant Unit).

The responsibilities of the appointee will include identification, development, prioritisation, screening and recruitment of patients, co-ordination and implementation of specific clinical trial. The appointee will also be responsible for case-management of trial patients and facilitating nurse-led clinics. There is a strong focus on education of patients including development of development of patient information sheets.

The appointee will have extensive experience as a Registered Nurse in nephrology and completed relevant post graduate studies. Applicants should have a reputation for positive and dynamic approach to research and learning, development of resources and monitoring of practice to provide safe and effective nursing care. We are looking for a person who is systems orientated with considerable skill in MS Word, and Excel and data management using multiple databases.
