**Ko wai mātou | Who are we**
Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Te Toka Tumai | Auckland DHB and is serving a population of approximately 1 million children.
We have the opportunity for an experienced **New Zealand registered Social Worker** with a current annual practising certificate to work in our dedicated and supportive** **Starship community** team.**
Our nursing, allied health and technical staff are responsible for delivering a range of health care services, including well child/Tamariki ora, child development and acute and long term medical care. Alongside the breadth of social work services delivered, the social work team also provide Noho Ãhuru Healthy Homes assessments.
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
This is a **permanent, full-time position** and although your office is based out of Greenlane Clinical Centre most of the work is delivered to children, young people, their families and whānau in their home, school and community settings.
We are committed to delivering whānau-centred care that focuses upon the health and wellbeing of children and their whānau. Getting to know our communities, working closely with them, removing inequities and barriers to health care for priority populations are key drivers for us each day. This position will work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to deliver high quality and effective whānau-centred services.
**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- New Zealand registration as a Social Worker with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- A clean, full, New Zealand drivers licence
- An overriding passion for improving outcomes for whānau and children
- 2+ years of Social Work clinical experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in an interdisciplinary bicultural environment
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
