Arvida’s mission is to improve the lives of New Zealanders by transforming the ageing experience. This company is one of the larger operators of retirement villages and aged care facilities in New Zealand with over 5,300 retirement units. The villages are located throughout the country with each village operating independently and expressing its own character, personality, and identity through its people, supported by the corporate support structure.

Post their recent acquiring of Arena Living villages the support office structure has been reorganised, resulting in this new position of Employee Relations Manager, reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, and alongside the new position of Head of People and Culture. The responsibilities of the role will be to develop and manage a new employee relations framework to support the over 2,700 employees (Full time and Part time). The Employment Relations Manager will also provide support to Managers in policies and procedures as well as assistance to the Head of People and Culture with learning and development initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner, who has a sound knowledge of employment law, is proactive and can engage across levels within Arvida as well as with external parties. The person will also be responsible for coaching the Managers and others in appropriate responses to employment issues. Arvida empower their Village Managers, to “manage their villages “ so we are looking for a coach who will support them, but also manage risk for the broader business.
