Infrastructure Automation Engineer

As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will be providing best practice guidance and support to the development teams on a daily basis. We are looking for an infrastructure engineer to make our production infrastructure more repeatable and reliable as we become a global player. The role is varied but will involve: - Collaborate with cross-functional product engineering teams to drive repeatability and reliability in our production infrastructure. - Work with other SREs to identify components that we can extract, refine, and share to make all teams' lives easier, such as developer tooling, build automation, provisioning, logging, monitoring, alerting, etc. - Produce clean, consistent, and well-organised code to automate our infrastructure, builds, deployments and configurations within our stack: - Nodejs - Postgres - Terraform, Ansible - Docker, Kubernetes - Icinga2, Grafana, Prometheus - Lead the way in designing, implementing, and improving our deployment and production infrastructure - Work with the teams by running blameless post-mortems to identify and implement improvements to make our products more reliable. - Work in a "build it and run it" environment where engineering teams build, deploy, monitor, and support the components that they own. - Define ways that we measure production operations and support engineering teams to implement monitoring. - Mentoring and coaching other SRE's. Everyone has something to learn and something to share. Below are some of the skills and experience that would be useful in this role, however you do not need to tick all the boxes. - Strong Linux experience - Software development experience and an interest in solving Platform team - challenges by building automated solutions - Hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure preferably AWS - A deep understanding of Systems architecture (network stack, file system, OS services, storage subsystems) and have implemented features around these. - Deep knowledge in working with container deployment and orchestration - technologies at scale with knowledge of the fundamentals to include service - discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing.
