**The Role**

We are looking for a Transfer Station Operator to join our supportive and friendly team based at our Transfer Station Facility in Papakura, Auckland.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the site's activities as part of a small team.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Controlling the placement of waste being deposited by customers
- Operating onsite plant and equipment
- Directing traffic within the transfer station and provide general information/direction to customers
- Operating vehicles and mobile plant such as wheeled loader and tracked excavator

You will be responsible for a range of activities which can include but not limited to liaising with customers and general public, general housekeeping, litter picking and operation of onsite fixed waste compaction equipment.

**To be successful in this role you should have**:

- Wheels, Tracks, Forklift, and Rollers (W,T,F,R) endorsements (preferred)
- A valid NZ driver’s licence Class 2 is preferred

You will have an understanding of current health and safety practices; demonstrate great communication skills, a “hands-on” approach, and excellent customer service skills with a “Customer First” approach.

This is a 6 day a week operation and the position will involve a roster across any of these days including Saturday work.
