Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for New Zealand and New Zealanders.
This is a Principal role, based in the Leadership Diversity and Inclusion group. The group has an ambitious work programme, working alongside public service leaders and partner agencies, which requires us to take a measured and deliberate approach to focus on the things that matter most, and enables us to draw on and share best practice and build capability across the system.
**This role is for someone who**:
- Is ready to take on a system leadership role, and who is confident leading system change
- Has experience working cross-culturally with a diverse range of communities
- Can demonstrate thought leadership at a system level and facilitate strategic thinking in others
- Has proven ability in developing strong relationships and establishing credibility in various contexts
- Has a strong understanding of the government context, policy agenda and priorities
- Has the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity to deliver a D&I work programme
- Is committed to, and can demonstrate how they support and value, diversity, and inclusion the public service
The Principal Advisor, Diversity and Inclusion provides strategic leadership and delivers a system-wide work programme to support Public Service chief executives to develop an inclusive and diverse Public Service that reflects the communities we serve. They will work in partnership with chief executives, senior leaders, and key stakeholders across the system and within the Commission to ensure we have an integrated and sustainable approach to creating a diverse and inclusive public service.
This position usually pays between $122,380- 150,940 depending on skills and experience.
