The role requires extensive clinical coding experience and knowledge, proven experience in clinical coding audit, ability with adult learning techniques, and a strong commitment to improving coding quality.

**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Overseeing the programme of internal coder audit for clinical coding at the District by measuring, reporting and enhancing clinical coding quality and providing guidance in relation to coding quality issues.
- Providing training for new and/or retraining of coders as required evidenced by progress reports and documentation of training programme
- Supporting the on-going clinician education programme and clinical documentation improvement process.Mō tō mātou rōpū ' About our team

You will be working with a passionate and dedicated team of 11 clinical coders processing approximately 75,000 inpatient events per annum. Our team are committed to meeting reporting deadlines whilst providing excellent quality coding, therefore it is very important to us that our coders have a proven history of commitment to team work, using their initiative and producing high quality work. **Minimum/essential qualification and skills for this role are**:

- Minimum 5 years clinical coding experience at a tertiary level facility (essential)
- Advanced ICD-10AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding (HIMAA) or equivalent (essential)
- HIMAA Clinical Coder Certification (essential)
- Certificate in External and Internal Clinical Coding Audit or equivalent (preferred)
