Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

SEDS is in a period of growth and expansion; increasing of our levels of service provision to include step up and step down services, the establishment of a day program and other services to improve the treatment outcomes for our tangata whaiora. We are also prioritising the development of the skills and knowledge of our colleagues working in non-regional areas by providing education, training and supervision. We are looking for a NZ Registered Health Practitioner with extensive specialised knowledge and experience in the eating disorders field to join our passionate and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team as we work together to create new and innovative treatment options.

As a member of the SEDS team you will be supported to continue your professional development in the eating disorders field and you will also be provided with specialised supervision to support you in your role.

The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is a multi-disciplinary team providing evidence based treatment and support to clients experiencing complex and severe eating disorders. We work in a holistic way together with our clients, their families and communities. We also lead the Te Manawa Taki Expert Eating Disorder Hub and have been tasked with supporting and developing Eating Disorder services within the Midland Region.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

A current New Zealand annual practicing certificate

Experience in providing psychological therapy with clients and families affected by eating disorders and/or other mental health problems

Experience in providing quality, evidence based practice in the treatment of eating disorders and other mental health disorders

Ability to contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team

Experience in providing education, training and clinical supervision to other health professionals

Ability to show initiative and work collaboratively with others
