An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Leading Hand to join our modern site based in Manukau, Auckland and provide supervision to an existing team of Diesel Technicians.
This is a full time permanent position working 45 hours per week. The role would see you 50% productive, and 50% in a mentoring, leadership capacity.
**About You**
We are looking for a trade qualified heavy diesel mechanic, who has experience leading and motivating a service team in a supervisory capacity. Having strong technical knowledge and experience with maintaining, servicing and repairing diesel engines and heavy trucks is essential.
Applicants will possess strong problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with the wider service and parts team. Providing top-notch customer service will come naturally to you.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
- General supervision of and responsibility of workshop repairs with the aim of maximising resource availability and capability;
- Planning and scheduling service workloads to meet and exceed customer requirements;
- Leading, supporting and mentoring technicians in repair routines providing input into ongoing training and development areas;
- Monitoring and lifting productivity and efficiency output with all technicians to maximise profitability;
- Promoting safety and quality in all aspects of the workshop environment;
- Encouraging the service team to work towards achieving and exceeding customer schedules for the return of vehicles, with the focus on ‘fix right, first time
