This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative property investment strategies, business cases, and planning initiatives that directly enable Police's operational delivery across Aotearoa. In this key leadership role, you'll collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including iwi, government agencies, and service providers, to develop and implement property strategies and delivery plans that align with Police's mission to make New Zealand the safest country. **Key Accountabilities**: - Develop and maintain strategic portfolio data as key inputs into short, medium and long term investment decisions. - Develop long term and annual capital and operating cost investment plans aligned with Police's strategic intent. - Lead property investment decisions, including acquisition, renewal, and divestment, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. - Develop funding solutions (internal, government and external) to deliver the investment plan/s - Work closely with diverse internal stakeholders to deliver property solutions that meet the needs of the end users. - Develop business cases and Cabinet papers to secure funding and approvals for key initiatives. - Build and maintain partnerships with iwi, local authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. - Provide innovative solutions to deliver value for money for property investment with a long-term whole of life asset management approach. - Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. **He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring** Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead others. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in property investment and portfolio management. While technical expertise is important, we value alignment with Police's values and commitment to collaboration and inclusivity. - Relevant tertiary qualifications in property, valuation, or business management. - Extensive experience (15years +) in strategic property planning and investment, including leading complex projects and negotiations. - Strong understanding of government business case requirements, Treasury funding requirements, working with other government agencies. Experience in successful business cases through Cabinet is desirable. - Demonstrated ability to deliver long term property strategies, successful comprehensive business cases and Cabinet papers. - Strong stakeholder management skills. - Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams. - Strong financial and commercial acumen. **Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements** - This role is based in Wellington, with some travel required. - Pre-employment checks, including police vetting and - Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.
