**The role**
The position will be based in West Auckland providing an excellent opportunity for an applicant with a repair automotive background to secure an off tools role while still making use of their technical knowledge.

Duties will include:

- Assessing damaged vehicles
- Carrying out quotations / estimating
- Liaising with companies and building relationships within the industry
- Administering claims and underwriting strategies for Mechanical Breakdown Insurance policies
- Ensuring the effective and efficient handling of all claims to achieve loss ratio targets as per company budgets
- Ensure all claims processes are documented
- Extensive communication with customers, staff, and service providers
- Provide expert advice to external and internal customers
- Ensuring effective measures such as parts procurement, authorised repairers, and agreed labour rates are adhered to
- Ongoing improvements to process effectiveness and efficiency
- Post repair inspections and handling queries

**The skills we seek**
The successful applicant will have the following skills, experience, and qualities:

- Must be trade qualified in or hold a qualification equivalent to a Level 4 **National Certificate in Motor Industry (panel beating)** certificate
- Panel beaters who have already moved into an off-tool’s role are preferred but panel beaters looking for their first off the tools role will also be considered
- A balance of technical knowledge, customer liaison skills, and administrative ability are required within this role
- A team player who can work independently when required
- Solid computer literacy
- Attention to detail and solid organisational skills are also critical to this role
- Training in claims and underwriting procedures as well as internal computer systems will be provided to the successful applicant
