Powell Fenwick is a long-established, locally owned and operated, highly regarded multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in New Zealand. We are currently looking for a **Trainee Structural Technician** based in Christchurch.

Our well-established Structural team are known for their high-quality engineering solutions and first-class service. From one project to the next you could be working on universities, sports centres, aquatic centres and more. You will be liaising with clients, project managers, architects, councils and contractors as well as providing integral support to our Structural team.

**This position will include**:

- Subsidised and flexible study options available
- Full training and development opportunities
- CAD and Revit documenting of structural design
- Liaising with engineers and other technicians
- Communicating with clients, other consultants, and contractors
- Organising and performing shallow soils testing
- Onsite work including construction observation and floor level surveying
- Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- A passionate and positive attitude
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Have great attention to detail
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally in person, and in written work
- Able to work collaboratively with both clients and team members
- NZ resident or hold a current work visa
