In the absence of Department Managers and other members of the management team, it is the Duty Managers role to ensure a consistently fresh and appealing shopping experience for all customers and the smooth running of the store and ensure at all times store appearance, security, service and productivity are at high standards.

We are looking for an experience Duty Manager (recommended but not essential) with excellent customer service, a great eye for detail and amazing communication skills. A current Duty Manager Certificate would be preferable, however for the right person we can support with training. Experience in working in a Supermarket is recommended but not essential.

**Key tasks include**:

- Build effective working relationships with the Department Managers, Buyers and individual employees.
- Ensure product merchandising standards in all departments consistently provides an attractive shopping experience for customers, meets the agreed standard and contributes to the overall impact and consistency of the store increasing the basket size and share per customer.
- Report daily to Dry Goods and Fresh Leads and Department Managers and Buyers on observations around merchandising standards, stock availability, staff productivity and performance and promotional activity and sales with suggestions for improvements and adjustments.
- Actively promote high quality customer service amongst staff ensuring that they present themselves professionally and are attentive to customer needs and inquiries.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across the departments in all areas relating to regulatory impact, including but not limited to compliance with store policies, the HACCP programme and Health and Safety program. Oversee any GS1 notifications and product recalls if required.
- Ensure PAK ‘n SAVE promotional and pricing programmes are adopted and complemented with in-store department specific activity so that the store presents a competitive price proposition and brand consistent offer to the market at all times.
- Have an understanding of health and safety management responsibilities relative to the position.
- Support the development of the store’s culture by working with the rest of the management team to support and deliver relevant programmes that maintain and build staff engagement.

**Roster Days**: Sunday to Thursday (hours to be discussed during the interview)
