**Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role**
The Advisor is part of the Implementation-Kura Auraki team which is responsible for the successful implementation of the changes to NCEA. The team provides services to the programme, including participatory design, planning and delivering implementation support for the sector and communications out to the community and stakeholders.
The Advisor inspires, supports, and motivates others in the design and implementation of the goals, actions and purpose of the Ministry and intention and principals of the Secondary Tertiary team.
The NCEA Implementation team works within the programme, implementing programme deliverables including participatory design, planning, and delivering implementation support for the regions to have the capability to enable them to engage with the sector and stakeholders.
The NCEA Implementation team is made up of the Kura Auraki and Kura Māori teams. The focus for the Kura Auraki team is English medium schools and providers. The primary focus for the Kura Māori team is on supporting kaupapa Māori and the Māori medium sector.
The team operates in a collaborative manner to ensure the design, development and implementation of products through the life of the programme, including ensuring all changes support Māori, Pacific, and Neurodiverse and disabled learners, are implemented and embedded. As the programme moves through the stages from design, development to implementation, the expertise of role holders will be focused accordingly to reflect the stage the programme is in as it implements the updated NCEA, and the capability of teachers is built (through the wider Te Mahau) to deliver that updated content.

**Mōhou ake | About you**
We are wanting someone who has experience working in the project/programme space, managing and working across multiple projects and workstreams with competing pressures. You will have a proactive mindset and be able to identify and mitigate risks as they arise and engage with stakeholders.
You will have sharp interpersonal skills, superior writing skills, and will be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders and representing the Ministry.
You will also offer:
- Experience in working within the public sector and understanding of the political environment and how related issues should be managed.
- Strategic thinking (i.e. sees issues through a range of lenses and stakeholder perspectives; and recognises broader implications and connections between issues).
- Ability to confidently and appropriately engage with a range of stakeholders from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to design and deliver internal and external stakeholder engagements, both general and targeted, to generate valuable and usable insights / advice.
- A skillset in demonstrating and engaging in Te Reo Māori and Mātauranga Māori is an advantage.
