**About the Role**

Our Aquatics team is seeking a Fitness Suite Lead for a 6-month fixed-term contract or secondment. This role will lead and support the Fitness Instructors and provide leadership at the -Te Ngaengae Fitness Suite.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to:

- Lead the daily operations of the Te Ngaengae Fitness Suite, ensuring high-quality customer service and making sure our customers enjoy a clean, enjoyable and safe environment
- Provide operational and administrative support. You'll also be preparing rosters and overseeing staff performance
- Develop and implement business and marketing plans to grow suite usage and engagement, working closely with the Facility Manager to meet targets.
- Drive operational excellence through robust quality systems, staff empowerment, and consistently high safety and service standards.
- Provide inspiring leadership and role modelling in line with Council values - supporting staff to thrive, develop, and connect with purpose.
- Oversee budget planning, financial performance, and resource allocation to ensure long-term sustainability and effective service delivery.

The key focuses of the person coming into this role are effective staff management, facility management, service delivery and performance reporting.

**About You**

You will be a strong people leader who brings experience in the fitness industry. Your practical gym floor experience, REPS Registration and current first aid certificate will mean you're able to deliver on our goal to provide exceptional recreational facilities and services that enhance people's lives.

Your passion for physical fitness activity will be infectious and you'll thrive on assisting and motivating our members, inducting new members and sharing new health and fitness trends. You'll appreciate the need to ensure staff are trained and fully supported to undertake their roles.

You'll also have a natural ability to build positive relationships with your colleagues and encourage collaboration across the wider fitness and aquatics team to ensure all our customers have a great experience at our facility.
