Manawatu District ManawatuWanganui, New Zealand Hospice Whanganui Full time

**Permanent Position**

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring nurse leader with a special interest in palliative care to join our dynamic team at Hospice Whanganui.

What we offer:

- Meaningful work that make a real and lasting difference in people's lives.
- An opportunity to lead a high-performing team and shape the future of Hospice care.
- A competitive remuneration package.
- A commitment to supporting your ongoing professional development.

**Ko wai mātou | About us**

We are an engaging and vibrant group of people who are passionate about providing exceptional palliative care in our community. We believe that everyone should have equal access to specialist palliative care in the place they choose to be. This means that, while we have a small in-patient facility, most of our services are provided in the community in patients' homes and in partnership with their whānau (families).

Our philosophy is to work in a truly holistic and integrated way to meet the total needs of our patients and their whānau and to support them to live the best life they can with the time they have left.

Our team consists of medical officers, nurse practitioner, registered nurses, social work/whānau support staff, health care assistants, and clinical support staff who work closely together and respect each other's input equally.

We also work side by side with many other providers across our community, including General Practice teams, Māori health providers, home-care providers, residential aged care facilities, St John's ambulance, and the hospital-based teams.

We are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to play our part in ensuring that our diverse communities, in particular Māori, Pacific, disabled and other marginalized groups in our communities receive high-quality, timely and equitable care when they need it.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The role leads our vibrant and specialist nursing team at an operational level, ensuring that they have the support, guidance and tools necessary to do their jobs to the highest standard. The role works closely with the wider leadership of Hospice Whanganui and is pivotal in developing a high-performing team and driving excellence through our service.

This is a 40 hour per week role worked over 5 days - Monday to Friday.

**Mōu | About you**

You will be joining a team that is dedicated to excellence in all aspects of their work, and to living out the values of Hospice Whanganui in all that they do. These values are:
1. We Do the Right Thing

2. We are Stronger Together

3. We Always Strive for the Best

For all aspects of this role and further information, please see the attached Job Description.

Applicants for this position should have NZ citizenship, permanent residency or a valid NZ work permit.
