**Senior Intelligence Analyst (Senior Customs Officer Grade 2) - Wellington**

We are seeking a highly motivated officer to join the Offshore Disruption and Proactive Intelligence team within the Intelligence, Investigations and Enforcement (II&E) Group. This position is based at the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB), located in Pipitea House, Wellington.

The Offshore Disruption and Proactive team is focused on engaging with partners, (both domestic and international), in order to disrupt the supply chain of illicit goods offshore. This role within the GCSB is vital in achieving this, and in supporting the all of government approach to combating Transnational and Serious Organised Crime (TSOC).

As the officer seconded to the GCSB you will be responsible for:

- Maintaining and strengthening the relationship between the GCSB and NZ Customs.
- Providing analytical resource to the GCSB to accommodate the increased collaboration between GCSB and NZ Customs.
- Acting as a conduit for information and intelligence between Offshore Disruption and Proactive Intelligence and the GCSB
- Providing the GCSB with an in-depth understanding of the breadth of NZ Customs work (including its tools /systems), including its areas of responsibility and approach to operational risk and response.
- Understanding how the work of the GCSB and partner agencies are able to support the multi-agency combat against TSOC.
- Improving your breadth of experience and skills, so that this can be brought back to NZ Customs.

This is a permanent SCO G2 position within the Offshore Disruption and Proactive Intelligence team with a secondment to the GCSB. The purpose of the secondment is to ensure that the successful appointee has time to understand and learn the role and identify opportunities for further and valuable cooperation and collaboration.

You are required to be based in Wellington. The salary range for this role is $78,371 - $98,413. Mid-point or competent for the range is $89,800. Standard hours to be worked are between 7am - 7pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional changes to the work hours may be requested at short notice to meet operational requirements.

- You will have law enforcement experience in operational work and intelligence analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with an enquiring mind.
- Proficiency in all forms of written and spoken communication.
- An ability to problem solve and make sound decisions in a fast -paced environment, whilst having flexibility, adaptability and resilience to changing operational needs.
- An exceptional ability to work independently, multi-task and ensure issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Ability to present confidently to a range of audiences including senior management
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a professional manner.
- A basic understanding of telecommunications structure would be beneficial

This role is intellectually challenging and requires individuals who are conscientious, adaptable with multiple workloads and be self-driven. Senior Customs Officers must take responsibility in managing their own and others' skills, knowledge and expertise to ensure a multi-skilled team / agency approach.

- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
