We’re looking for an exceptional senior journalist with brilliant ideas and proven organisational skills to take a vital role in our Journalism Planning team.

As Deputy Head of Journalism Planning, you’ll support the head of the department in generating and managing a varied and exciting content plan across our nationwide newsrooms, and across digital, print, radio, audio and video.

NZME’s editorial team span the NZ Herald, nzherald.co.nz, Newstalk ZB and five regional daily titles. As Deputy Head of Journalism Planning, you’ll work with departments throughout our organisation, including marketing and commercial, to bring distinctive ideas to life - exclusive high-impact journalism and editorial projects that attract, engage and retain subscribers and audiences.

To meet this challenge, you’ll need to be skilled at managing multiple deadlines and tasks in a busy newsroom, and you’ll thrive on collaborating, innovating and delivering results.
