**About the Role**
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for providing accurate quantitative information on Smith & Caughey’s financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of their business, while also ensuring they are compliant with all tax regulations.
You will lead a team of two with responsibilities, including, and not limited to:
- financial audits and timely and accurate payments to suppliers;
- the provision of financial reports and budget forecasts for different users within the business;
- tracking payments to internal and external stakeholders;
- monthly, quarterly, and annual closings;
- the management of balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
**Skills and Experience**
This opportunity will suit high-performing accountants looking to broaden their experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.
You will be CA qualified with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards/regulations, along with some experience of leading teams; ideally in a retail or related environment.
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills are essential, together with well-developed commercial acumen and a proactive approach.
You will have:
- a knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- hands-on experience with accounting software like Business Central, FreshBooks and QuickBooks, plus advanced MS Excel skills;
- tax knowledge;
- experience with general ledger functions.
