**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity**

Lead strategic financial performance and drive enterprise value.

We’re seeking a commercially driven Deputy Chief Finance Officer to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and strategic direction of Chorus. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a key leadership role with wide enterprise influence, spanning finance operations, planning, reporting, and business partnering. You’ll be responsible for embedding financial discipline, ensuring strong performance management, and supporting capital allocation decisions that drive long-term value.

As Deputy CFO, you will lead a high-performing finance team across financial planning & analysis, reporting, compliance and business partnering. You’ll work closely with executive leaders to deliver insights that shape enterprise decisions and regulatory strategies, while maintaining rigorous oversight of financial governance, audit, and capital governance frameworks.

This role is part of the broader COO business unit and works alongside Strategy, Investor Relations, Treasury, Customer Experience and Brand & Marketing. You’ll play a critical role in aligning the Long-Range Plan (LRP) with organisational goals, streamlining finance operations, and mentoring the next generation of financial leaders. We’re looking for a commercially minded, strategic finance leader who thrives in complexity and delivers with precision.

You’ll bring:

- Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, ideally in regulated sectors (telecommunications, infrastructure, or technology)
- Deep expertise in forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and capital allocation
- Proven ability to deliver financial insights that inform executive decisions and strategic planning
- Experience with regulatory reporting, audit leadership, and investor/stakeholder communications
- Strong operational focus with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable business advice
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CPA, CA, CFA, or MBA preferred
- High integrity, leadership presence, and commitment to team development
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- And a natural leader with proven experience in building cohesive, dynamic teams
