**Responsibilities**:
Installation and Configuration:

- Install telecommunications equipment, including cabling, routers, switches, and other networking hardware.
- Set up and configure telecommunications systems according to technical specifications and client requirements.

Maintenance and Repair:

- Perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance of telecommunications systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in telecommunication networks, including hardware and cabling issues.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test network performance and identify issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity problems efficiently to minimize downtime.

Network Upgrades and Modifications:

- Upgrade existing telecommunications systems to meet new technology standards.
- Modify network configurations to improve performance or accommodate new installations.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Prepare technical reports and provide updates to supervisors or clients.

Compliance and Safety:

- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
- Follow occupational health and safety guidelines while working on installations or repairs.

**Requirements**:
Educational Requirements:

- Certificate III or IV in Telecommunications Technology, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Expertise:

- Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, systems, and networks, including fibre optics, copper cables, and wireless technologies.

Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment for network troubleshooting.

**Experience**:

- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with ANZSCO standards and New Zealand/Australian telecommunications regulations is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Certifications (Desirable):

- Relevant certifications in telecommunications systems, such as fibre optic installation or network security.

Work Environment:

- This position may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Travel may be required to client sites or project locations.

- Hold relevant certifications, such as the New Zealand Certificate in Telecommunications (Level 3), if applicable.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Keep detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Provide reports on project progress, equipment status, and system performance.
