We are interested to hear from Health Care Assistants (HCA) who are looking for new opportunities in the field of Mental Health. Our Whakatāne Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit has permanent vacancies available.

The HCA role is to assist the Registered Nurse in delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients in hospital. This position involves working under the direction of nursing teams who are committed to delivering comprehensive, quality care to patients.

Working in the Inpatient Team, you will be part of our multidisciplinary team, committed to delivering high quality care to our consumer group and be part of continuous improvement. This is an excellent unit to develop a broad range of skills and experience for career progression. You will be supported and encouraged to develop your skills and continue learning. You will be working within a small team which allows you to be involved with activities to get to know the patients.

Preferred applicants will have a certificate in Health Care Assistance Level 4 (or other relevant qualification) and have current experience working as an HCA in a health care setting or in a related health care service. You must also be entitled to work in New Zealand.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week however part-time hours can be considered. You will need to be able to work rostered shifts including morning, afternoon and nights across all seven days.
