Technical Consultant

Tribe is a dynamic 100% kiwi owned IT Services firm with 7 branches nationwide _and_ a proud Datto Blue Diamond Partner. We are searching for an experienced **Technical Consultant **for our Auckland office.

**Role Overview**:
The Technical Consultant is a senior-level, essential role within Tribe - this role is core to making sure our customers are well supported and looked after. Whether it be working alongside your mates in the Technical Delivery team or helping out our wider team to achieve great outcomes the focus is always on creating that excellent customer experience.

Now, there are some pretty important things that you need to do in this role - such as engaging with our customers to build and foster positive ongoing relationships, to help them achieve their desired outcomes through the effective use of technology, to support them when things go wrong, and to help guide them with expert advice when needed. You will deliver key technical projects and work as part of our broader Tribe, upskilling and constantly improving your understanding of modern technologies. As a technical mentor on the team, you will pitch in to help where-ever needed - because our customers are the centre of our world Along with all this engaging and fulfilling work you will need to make sure that you are delivering positive outcomes for our Tribe, based on key deliverables.

**Core Role Responsibilities**:

- Central to this role is our customers, in everything you do the customer is the focus, achieving great outcomes that both you and Tribe can be proud of.
- Act as a contributing member of our Technical Delivery team - sharing your knowledge, insights and empowering yourself and others to do our best work.
- Build and maintain a detailed understanding of customer environments and ensure site documentation is accurate, reflective, and up to date.
- Go to customer sites as required to resolve on-premise issues, as well as to build positive direct relationships with customers.
- Develop a really good understanding of all Tribe’s services and how these relate to customer needs. Identify and follow up opportunities where Tribe can continue to make smarter business possible for our customers
- Carry out assigned project work from the design phase through to scoping and deployment for our customers.
- Have a strong focus on the achievement of your role objectives - this will ultimately generate the right outcomes for the team, customers, and Tribe.
- Comply with all Health and Safety guidelines and protocols.

**Skills, Education & Work Experience**:

- At least 10+ years' experience in a high performing Managed Services, Managed IT Services, or IT Service delivery environment.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills - and documentation skills a must.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service focus.
- Experience with modern wired and wireless networking technologies - HTTP/s, DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, Routing, and Switching.
- Detailed understanding of security and security technologies including UTM, modern firewalling, MFA, user awareness and security policy.
- Ability to deploy, administer, troubleshoot, upgrade, and perform maintenance on Microsoft Server operating systems - both cloud and on-premise.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Azure and M365 solutions for customers.
- Experience with PSA and RMM systems, working with tickets, time entry, and remote management.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies including VMWare, and Hyper-V.
- Highly professional presentation and demeanour.
- Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Professional IT certifications and a track record of constant upskilling - with Microsoft, VMWare, Fortinet and other security certifications preferred.
