About the role
As a Technical Consultant, Maximo, you’ll collaborate with our customers and their technical experts to understand, design and develop solutions and technology platforms, that enable them to meet their wider business and technological strategies. You will be comfortable in leading technical discovery sessions and design workshops, as well as writing up technical designs and helping to manage the delivery either yourself or with our wider functional/pm/test teams. As a Technical Consultant, you will work to a project plan with the capability to adjust that plan as necessary to achieve customer satisfaction and profit objectives.
In this role you’ll be across multiple projects with high profile clients. Through interaction with all client stakeholders, your primary development goal will be to broaden and deepen competency across project stages and industries. Our projects are typically end-to-end deliveries
- so there’s heaps to get your teeth stuck into This is a technical role, and you must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the IBM Maximo technical components. Your solid product knowledge and technical expertise will enable you deliver and implement smart technology and software solutions. You will also have the experience of solution design and development in IBM Maximo and related components.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring strong technical acumen and capabilities, to navigate through technical challenges and possibilities of IBM Maximo and related components and have a desire to understand the customer’s technology roadmap to ultimately craft and design solutions that exceed expectations. Experience with Maximo 7.x and higher is essential. You may also have experience with presales and shaping projects. You enjoy being hands on and aren’t afraid to get stuck in there to train your customers or mentor junior team members.
What you’ll do
- Deliver software solutions utilising the Maximo Application Suite and related technology components.
- Gain understanding of customers' needs and collaborate with other consultants and support teams to complete design and testing documentation.
- Develop complex software solutions requiring the use of high-level programming knowledge
- Get involved with all levels of EAM development activities which include understanding requirements, interacting with customer, development, unit testing, usability testing, creating supporting documentation, administration and support.
- Continually develop expertise and broader skill sets to provide additional capabilities and value to Datacom and our clients
**You’ll have**:
- Tertiary qualified in IT or engineering preferred
- IBM Maximo V7.6 certification desirable or expected completion within 6 months
- 4-6 years of strong IBM Maximo technical experience, with broad and deep knowledge of the related technology platforms, across various asset-intensive industries.
- Expertise in programming languages, relational databases and operating environments, particularly Java, Jython, Python, JavaScript, Windows Server, Unix/Linux and Oracle or MS SQL Server databases.
- Experience in web development tools and technology JSP, HTML, XML, etc.
- Good knowledge and experience with ITIL framework and processes.
- Experience with Maximo Business Object customisations.
- Experience with the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) technologies like JMS Queues, REST APIs, web services, interface tables, flat files, etc.
- Experience developing and modifying BIRT reports.
- Highly motivated, self-managing and takes pride in their work
- Solid experience in driving customer facing engagements from a technical perspective
- The desire and ability to coach and work with technical staff as a team to maximise team performance and satisfaction
