Unit Coordinator
We have an awesome opportunity that could be perfect for you if you're looking to step up into a leadership role while still keeping your nursing duties.
We’re offering a Senior Nurse position with a cool twist. You can ease into a leadership role as a Unit Coordinator for an average of 16 hours per week, while still spending the rest of your time as a Registered Nurse. Basically you will be both a Unit Coordinator and Registered Nurse across a 6 week roster period. It’s the best of both worlds—gaining leadership experience without jumping straight into a full-time commitment.
With your InterRAI skills and experience in helping out as a Unit Coordinator or supporting your Clinical Manager in your current role.
We're confident you’d crush it in this role. Plus, you’ll have all the support you need to take on more responsibility at your own pace.
Or as a Unit Coordinator, we understand the demands of full-time management can lead to burnout, leaving little room for the personal fulfillment that comes with direct patient interaction. That’s why we’re offering this position designed for experienced leaders like you, who wish to reduce administrative duties while still utilizing your skills to mentor junior nurses and maintain that quality of care.
**Hours of Work**
This is a split role, working as a Unit Coordinator and Registered Nurse. Both roles are Permanent, Part Time in nature working across a 6 week rotating roster.
Part of your roster will cross into the weekend so you must be flexible to work 3 weekends within the 6 week roster.
- Unit Coordinator - Average 3 shifts per week
- Registered Nurse - Average 3 shifts per week
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide person-centred clinical care for residents in care homes across various levels of care.
- Lead a team of caregivers and nurses to provide the highest quality clinical care within the Unit
- Conduct medication rounds, manage care plans, and maintain accurate paperwork.
- Stand up and tell us where we can invest more to ensure continuous quality improvement.
**Skills and Experience**
You’ll help us make a real difference through your RN experience, personal passion, and empathy.
- Hold a current APC and NZ Nursing Council Registration.
- Ideally, you’ll have a current InterRAI certificate
- Previous experience and a passion for leading a team to mentor and support others
- Excellent clinical skills in adult care and ideal aged care experience.
- Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- A compassionate nurse who strives for excellence and to make an impact in residents’ lives.
**Reasons to Belong**
- Fully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance to our eligible permanent NZ employees and a discount on insurance cover for eligible family members.
- Wellbeing discounts and advice, EAP counselling services, study support, and cultural leave.
- Paid parental leave - in addition to standard parental leave, Bupa offers 12 weeks of paid leave for primary carers and 2 weeks for secondary carers.
- Refer-a-friend programme of $750 - $2,000.
- $3,000 Sign-on Bonus.
- Professional Development - in-house and external training and development.
- Industry-competitive remuneration and benefits, and internal reward and recognition programmes.
No matter who you are or where you come from, we encourage you to ‘Be You at Bupa’.
Through vision, passion, and sheer hard work, we are now New Zealand’s largest aged care and dementia care provider.
