We are seeking enthusiastic technicians to join our team as a Rotational Pharmacy Technician for a permanent, full-time role.
As a Rotational Pharmacy Technician, there are opportunities to work in all areas of our pharmacy department. Rotations include dispensary, aseptic production (compounding), drug distribution and clinical.
In our dispensary you will be dispensing off inpatient charts, ward pharmacist orders and limited specialist outpatient prescriptions.
In our aseptic production unit you will play a key role in compounds chemotherapy for the 3DHB region, spanning Wellington, Hutt and Wairarapa, as well compounding some sterile items for other services, such as ophthalmology and paediatrics.
In our drug distribution team you will manage medication stocks for various clinical areas throughout the hospital and get the chance to work with Pyxis, the automated drug cabinets used on the majority of inpatient ward areas across the DHB. You will also get the opportunity to work with our automated EV54 repacking machine to optimize drug supplies all over the hospital.
In our clinical rotation you will work alongside our clinical pharmacists on our inpatient wards, directly interacting with patients to take comprehensive medication histories.

We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout the DHB, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, an aseptic production service and a quality & risk service. Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the DHB.
Moū ' About you
You will be qualified Pharmacy Technician, holding the Level 5 qualification and committed to the Pharmacy Technician profession. You will be a motivated individual, skilled, a great communicator and team player. Hospital pharmacy experience is not essential as we can provide training to the right person.
