Electrical Fitter

Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers. We also provide contracting services to our partners - other network owners and operators across the North Island.

We have over 1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.

We are now on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Electrical Fitter to join our Rotorua Contracting team and deliver maintenance, capital and reactive works programmes.

**The role**
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be joining an experienced team and carry out construction, maintenance and repair electrical equipment to customer requirements within the a substation environment. Your day will include but not limited to:

- Carry out prescribed electrical work according to customer requirements
- Accurate record-keeping and reporting of the works undertaken
- Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover from setbacks
- Assist with repair and maintenance activities along with cable testing and commissioning
- Complying to Northpower’s Health, Safety and Quality standards

**About you**
You’ll either be an experienced Electrical Fitter or someone with strong experience in industrial or commercial electricity space and looking to become an Electrical Fitter. To be successful in this role, you will also have some or all of the following:

- Experience in Substation 11KV to 220KV in Substation Construction or Maintenance
- Be a registered electrician with a current practicing licence
- Possess a current NZ driver’s licence
- Able to cope with the physical demands of the job and has a strong commitment to health and safety
