The Safety and Wellbeing Function exists to support and enable the Department's various teams to achieve phenomenal health, safety and well-being outcomes. This is done by setting a clear strategic direction, providing clear and useable guidance and resources, providing day-to-day business partnering advice, and enabling learning and continuous improvement.
**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
Reporting to the Development Partner, Northern Region, the primary purpose of the Safety and Wellbeing Trainer is to effectively deliver high quality health, safety and wellbeing capability programmes to frontline staff, managers and leaders throughout the organisation to enable a continued improvement in the department's improving health, safety and wellbeing culture and performance.
Your ability to motivate, inspire and engage participants in the learning process and translate learning into changes in thinking and behaviour will be critical to your success in this role.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Strong knowledge and experience of health, safety and wellbeing matters including a detailed understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and associated legislation.
- Proven experience in the effective delivery of learning and development/capability building programmes.
- An effective communicator - both verbal and written.
- Good relationship management skills and proven effectiveness in working with groups from a range of backgrounds and different levels of responsibility.
- A confident presentation style with the ability to adapt presentation and language so that it appeals to the interest and level of others; and
Formal adult learning, training or facilitation qualifications or strong experience in an adult learning / training environment with an understanding of modern workplace learning is preferred.
**Other requirements**
- A full (clean) drivers' licence for regular regional travel to deliver courses;
- National travel for course delivery may sometimes be required.
**Utu ā-tau | Salary**
The salary range for this position is $75,829 - $107,052 mid-point is $89,210, Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
Appointments are based on demonstrable skills and experience relevant to the role and your alignment to our organisation's values.
