**_ The Role / Te mahi_**

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional with a strong client focus, a passion for innovation, and a track record of delivering excellent service to join the newly transformed Information Systems Group.

This role will drive our modern data architecture initiatives leveraging cloud services to enable the organisation to derive value from its wide-ranging data assets.

You will lead a team responsible for data management including mastering, modelling, gathering, storing, and analysing across a range of platforms and technologies. This includes managing data in both university systems and data pipelines to deliver curated hybrid or public cloud-based data stores.

You will continuously improve the efficiency, effectiveness and operation of our data layer technologies that enable our enterprise information systems to meet current demands and adapt to changing needs of our customers.

Effective collaboration with key stakeholders and an understanding of data strategy and business needs are essential in this role, enabling you to provide innovative data solutions that effectively address the needs for information.

**_ Skills and experience / Kā pūkeka me kā_**

To be successful in this role, you will have considerable experience within a medium or complex organisation in supporting a range of database systems and cloud-based data platforms.

Proven experience with structured and unstructured data platforms will be second nature as will experience with query languages, especially SQL.

A generalist technology skillset with experience in supporting systems and platforms including their underlying data technologies will be important to lead this team.
