Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
As the Principal Advisor Portfolio Management you provide expert project and programme advice and support to the Toitū Te Whenua LINZ Portfolio Management team, the Head of Organisational Performance and business groups. You establish performance measures and provide data analysis to produce accurate and timely project and programme reports for steering committees and boards to enable evidence-based decision making. You are a key partner to the business and influence leaders and Solution Delivery Specialists to build and enhance a strong culture of performance and accountability to ensure Toitū Te Whenua delivers against its outcomes and ministerial priorities.
This is achieved by leading the development, implementation and improvement of project and programme frameworks, tools, templates, and reporting mechanisms. Toitū Te Whenua is on its way towards business agility and needs your experience in agile ways of working and maximising the delivery of value to our customers to help us on that journey.
We are on a mission to help Aotearoa New Zealand retain and enhance its world class property system and to meet the needs of the 21st century. We have initiated a long-term programme to rebuild Landonline, the system used to manage New Zealand's land information, you would make a valuable contribution to this programme of work that will have a positive impact for New Zealanders.
Our Portfolio Management Office is also responsible for the capital programme, project authorisation process, the framework that guides the way in which projects are delivered, the systems that support that delivery, and the reporting of what is happening across our dynamic portfolio. This role could be based in either Wellington, Hamilton or Christchurch.

He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with substantial experience working in large projects/ programme/ portfolios of work, preferably in a technical environment.
You are a strong communicator, experienced working with all levels of the organisation, we are looking for you to lend your Strategic/ long-term thinking to understand what we need to be and how might we get there. You will be known for your thought leadership, and a change management lens, and customer-focussed approach.
As you mentor and guide other staff at LINZ, you will be comfortable facilitating workshops and meetings. You will have experience in capital planning and working with finance teams and governance bodies to ensure that sound investment decisions are made.
Reporting will be something that you've got deep experience in along with working across a range of stakeholders to get the necessary inputs.
Having experienced Agile run programmes/ projects you'll be familiar with supporting value-delivery and iterative, team-driven programmes but you'll also know what's necessary to provide the programme governance the confidence that things are tracking to plan.

**The Salary range for this role is**: $112,849 - $152,677
