**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role**:
As a Mechanical Engineering / Automotive tutor in the Waikato Trades Academy you will be giving high school students an exciting introduction to these trades and industries. While the students are entrusted to you, you will show and teach them basic entry level Engineering and Automotive skills while they gain NCEA 'level 2 and 3 credits. We are looking for an experienced qualified tradesperson who is keen to show our students basic skills and what a rewarding career these skills can lead too in the Engineering or Automotive industries.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $74,400.00 and $97,700.00, dependent on skills and experience.

The Waikato Trades Acadamy Plumbing Tutor is based in our Wintec | Te Pūkenga Rotokauri campus reporting to a centre for trades team manager and will be responsible for:

- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment by using effective teaching strategies and promoting learning consistent with student needs and professional standards to ensure successful student outcomes.
- To contribute positively and appropriately as a member of a teaching team.
- To fulfil necessary administrative obligations so students a rewarded correctly for their learning

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Trade certification in the Automotive or Mechanical Engineering fields
- A willingness to learn new skills
- Able to interact and be responsive to the needs of diverse groups, e.g. youth, Māori and Pasifika, and international students.
- Certificate in Adult Teaching or equivalent is a bonus
