Eligibility Criteria: NZQF Level 4 or higher Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering Some work experience as a Motor Mechanic will be strongly preferred Must have a full NZ Driver Licence Must have a clean Police record Other Job Details: Minimum Weekly Hours: 30 Hours/Week Maximum Weekly Hours: 40 Hours/Week Position Summary: Turbo & Diesel Automotive Services Limited are seeking an Entry Level Motor Mechanic who will be responsible for servicing, testing and repairing petrol engines and the mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes. Job Responsibilities: Inspect all vehicles to diagnose issues by performing mechanical and electrical tests. Dismantle and rebuild, repair or replace engines, parts or systems, as necessary. Inspect all internal wiring in motor vehicles related to ignition-related problems. Test, service, maintain, and repair electrical components and systems. Carry out air-conditioning system diagnosis, repairs, and servicing. Maintaining, testing and repairing engines and mechanical parts such as transmissions, suspension, steering, brakes, and control systems. Performing maintenance, including changing oil, giving engine tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires. Repair or replace defective or worn parts, such as suspension components, brake pads, wheel bearings, etc. Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance. Interact with customers, understand their vehicle requirements and explain to them the repair requirements, and all relevant costs. Perform any other general vehicle maintenance tasks required in the workshop. Work in strict compliance with the occupational health and safety requirements.
