Step into a leadership role with impact, as the Operating Model Lead for Kotahitanga at MSD.
Te Pae Tawhiti - Our Future is about the Ministry of Social Development's (MSD) future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders. Te Pae Tawhiti transformation programme is a multi-year journey that will deliver services that are easier, more accessible, and better integrated across MSD.
Te Pae Tawhiti will also accelerate MSD's embedding of a relational approach to commissioning, which will help us work in a more consistent and fairer way with all our partners throughout Aotearoa. This is the focus of the Kotahitanga service change, which reflects that we are stronger when working together with whānau, hapū, iwi, providers, communities, and other government agencies. Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a tūāpapa (foundation) for all the work we do.

You will lead the development of a new relational commissioning operating model, from discovery and planning to iterative design and testing. You'll engage with diverse teams, managing risks and shaping the future of social service operations. Embrace collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and transformation with us at MSD. Join our team as an Operating Model Lead for Kotahitanga at MSD We're looking for an innovative leader who:

- Can transform complex concepts into practical actions, gaining stakeholder engagement and commitment.
- Builds strong partnerships and collaborates effectively with various stakeholders.
- Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Has social sector commissioning experience (preferred).
- Has a proven record of developing operating models and strategies in a complex, demanding environment.
- Has experience working collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs, community groups, and iwi/Māori.
- Understands the wider social sector ecosystem within which MSD operates.
- Can tailor approaches to diverse needs while staying focused on better outcomes for our whānau and communities.
- Has experience planning and managing complex projects within the public sector.
- Has experience with senior leadership and can influence decision-makers.
- Provides clear direction and creates a supportive environment for direct reports.

Position Description

**Salary range**: $117,349.00 - $146,034.00
