Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Auckland Transport Operation Centre has a fantastic opportunity available for a Business Support Manager. This is a truly rewarding and diverse role where you will lead the administrative, financial and facilities management functions at the Auckland Transport Operation Centre (ATOC) - a unique joint venture which works 24/7 to ensure people get from A to B safely and efficiently. As our Business Support Manager, you will play a key role within the senior leadership team and manage a team who deliver a variety of services and projects to help ensure ATOC operates smoothly including key stakeholder relationships with the NZPolice as the manager of CCTV requests. This role has a level of autonomy that you can own and develop and has a clear line of sight to improving the transport network across Auckland and the region and to making a difference to the lives of Aucklanders. No two days are the same and there's plenty of opportunity to shape the role and work with a wide range of people to make a positive difference every day. Ko koe tēnei | About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in people leadership and business support/administration within a large, complex organisation, including accounts receivable/payable
- A proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the ability to influence effectively
- An understanding of financial policy, process and statutory requirements (particularly within the government context - preferred) including planning, forecasting and budget management
- Sound reporting and analytical skills
- The ability to translate strategic concepts into tangible plans and outcomes.
- Experience in communications, customer information service or information management is desirable

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector. ATOC operates 24/7 to help manage the transport network in real-time, focusing on all modes of land transport, from pedestrians, public transport and general traffic through to freight. The overall goal is to ensure customer's journeys are as safe and efficient as possible.
