**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The National Organised Crime Group have teams based in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Hamilton and Christchurch. NOCG is mandated by Government to detect, investigate, confront, prosecute and disrupt the activities of high level and organised criminal groups. This is achieved through developing strong teams and collaboration with law enforcement and other agencies situated both nationally and internationally.

NOCG investigations are often challenging and complex, involving a full range of best practice overt and covert investigation techniques. This commonly involves targeting organised criminal enterprises, senior and influential organised crime leaders, international syndicates or professional facilitators involved in the importation and supply of illicit drugs and associated financial criminal offending.

To support the delivery of these outcomes the Intelligence Analyst will contribute to crime reduction and the prevention and disruption of criminal activity by preparing nationally standardised intelligence products that inform and support prevention, intervention and enforcement activities.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Proactively identify emerging or escalating trends in crime.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports/presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings appropriate to a range of audiences.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
- Effectively manage competing priorities and demands to maintain quality of work under strict timeframes.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of positive partnerships (internal and external.)
- Lead by example demonstrating a commitment to our values.
- Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products.

**Special Requirements**
- Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete NZDIA modules early in employment
- Shift/Weekend work may be required to meet operational demand
- Hold a full driver licence or be able to complete early in employment

**Utu ā-tau | Salary**

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $83,948 and $96,919 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
