As an intelligence analyst with High Alert this will be your focus every day. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team making a meaningful difference through the national drug early warning system.** This is not your average intelligence role - the most common phrase in the team is _"it's a weird one"_ as we are constantly responding to new and evolving situations. We are looking for someone who is inquisitive, methodical, resilient, and firmly focused on reducing drug harm across New Zealand. You need to be able to think on your feet, be confident in your decision making, and be able to bring people along your thought process with you. This role is well suited to someone new to Intelligence and who wants to work in a collaborative and reactive environment while developing their tradecraft. There are opportunities to pursue broader strategic work as well by supporting the work of the National Drug Intelligence Bureau (NDIB). Due to the nature of illicit drug harm, this role does have on-call requirements, though these are flexible and shared amongst the team. **Key Accountabilities**: - Proactively identify and analyse emerging or escalating trends in drug related harm and propose appropriate action. - Produce public notifications warning about potentially dangerous drugs and contribute to the core reporting and deliverables of the team. - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver high standard written reports, and provide clear and concise verbal briefings and presentations to a range of audiences. - Develop and maintain strong network of professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds. - Display commitment to quality and continuous improvement in skills and ability. - Manage competing priorities and demands to deliver timely, relevant, and influential Intelligence. - Support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider intelligence unit. - Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, identifying opportunities to reflect these in intelligence products. **He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring** Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others. To be successful in this role, you will bring: - A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn as you go - Experience collecting and analysing information - Experience identifying and assessing threats and risks - An ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others - A strong track record of working to tight deadlines and making decisions under pressure **Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements** - Successful applicant must reside in Wellington or be willing to relocate. - The following would also be an advantage: A relevant qualification.
