**About the Role**:
In this role you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and management of the Extraction, PCR and Instruments Teams. Your role includes the operation and management of ISO 17025 quality standards (GeneMark Laboratory), and to contribute to running a profitable commercial laboratory services business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Lead and Manage Teams: Oversee day-to-day operations, team performance, recruitment, and training. Ensure your team meets production targets and business KPIs.
- Quality and Improvement: Foster a culture of continual improvement and maintain ISO 17025 standards. Support health and safety policies and legislative compliance.
- Workload and Capacity Management: Ensure efficient process flows and prioritize submissions to meet turn-around times. Collaborate with other team leaders for seamless sample processing.
- Quality Control: Maintain test validity and sample traceability. Resolve issues swiftly and ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
- Supplies and Equipment Management: Manage inventory and consumables, maintain equipment, and operate within budget constraints.
- Key Technical Role: Authorize test results or reports, ensuring high standards and customer satisfaction.

**About You**

We are seeking a dedicated leader who is passionate about leading a team to success and driving quality laboratory processes.

Your Key Skills & Experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Science (preferably biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology).
- Around 3-5 years experience in laboratory processes, with strong leadership, process analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate, good spreadsheet skills, database software, and LIMs. Knowledge of SAP and inventory management.
- Operational experience with ISO 17025 implementation and auditing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A keen eye for detail and processes.
- Functional knowledge and experience with health and safety legislative requirements.
