**Are you studying Psychology, Counselling, Social Worker or Psychotherapy or do you have experience providing mental health and addiction support, and have interest in gaining experience in telehealth?**

We're hiring Mental Health and Addictions Advisors for permanent positions (minimum 0.6 FTE) in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. **Atu mo te mahi | About the role**

We are currently looking to fill shifts between:
Monday - 5am-5pm

Tuesday - 12am
- 8am

Thursday - 12am and 8am

Friday’s 5am and 5pm

Saturday 6am -2pm

Sunday 12am-4pm

**More specifically your role will involve**:

- Counselling, assessment, intervention and support planning, referrals and risk management
- Providing support to people with varying needs
- Intervention and support planning, and working with people experiencing risk to help keep them safe
- Accurately recording tāngata whai ora information using new technology, tools and resources
- Participating in continuous improvement of quality and service developments
- Ensuring ethical, culturally sensitive service delivery for all service users
- Accurately recording client information using new technology, tools and resources

**Qualifications**:

**Qualifications and Experience**
- A minimum of 12 months experience working in Mental Health and/or Addiction’s counselling sector
- Preferably tertiary qualification in relevant field - Mental Health and/or Addiction’s counselling, addictions papers or psychology papers
- Ability to manage high pressure situations and use sound judgement
- Telehealth experience or face to face counselling (paid or volunteer) would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to quickly build rapport and adaptability working with varied demographics
- Korero Māori or talanoa in Pasifika languages is also highly desirable

- Able to use appropriate counselling and support skills to meet service user need
- Uses sound judgement
- Ability to work in busy environments and managing challenging situations
- Demonstrate strong self-awareness and able to reflect on their practice
