**Job Description**:
Our Food & Grocery division has gone from strength to strength, with growth in sales and increased product offering and we currently have a great opportunity for an experienced and commercial FMCG Buyer/Category Manager (Buying Chapter Member) to join this exciting, high performing team.
To be successful in this position, you’re someone who understands how to create a compelling range using a mix of data and creativity - you back your range decisions with facts and strong shopper and customer insights and work collaboratively to bring this to life.
This role is critical to our success and your key responsibilities are complex and exciting You will have the opportunity to truly make and influence decisions that create value for our customers and drive commercial results.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver a range assortment, shelf opportunities and promotional activations that speak to our customers
- Commercial planning and delivery of activations for new products
- Deliver sales, margin, and stock results to budget
- Working cross-functionally to develop and implement the strategic direction of your category
- Work closely with sourcing and suppliers to meet our customers’ needs
**Qualifications**:
Highly commercial, insightful and decisive in your thinking, you are passionate about your craft and have an innate curiosity for ‘how we can do better’ to provide the best products for our customers. You will have a proven understanding of the FMCG market and the process from source to shelf, be resilient and adaptable enough to quickly react to the rapid and ever-changing shopping environment.
Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills will be essentials to unlock collaboration, productivity and speed to market - this is key to our agile way of working Your drive to contribute whilst taking ownership means you work effectively, both independently and collaboratively to deliver your best work and commercial results for the business.
Here's a check list of the track record and experience we are looking for:
- Solid **category management** experience within retail, and ideally grocery and FMCG
- Experience **developing branded and** **own brand** categories
- Strong **commercial acumen, negotiation and analytical skills**:
- A **customer driven** focus.
- The **ability to trade** utilising promotional activity and advertising to maximum effect
- ** Collaborative working style **and excellent** communicator** with strong **stakeholder management** skills
- ** Decisiveness** in a fast-moving environment as well as a **resilient** and **driven** nature
