**About the Role**
We're looking for a strategic and experienced leader to join our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) as the Technical Services Manager for the Northern Region. This role leads the regional technical services functions, including energy management, engineering, and compliance, ensuring our facilities are safe, efficient, and future-ready.
You'll oversee the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of technical services across multiple sites, providing expert advice and assurance for design, construction, commissioning, and operations. You'll also lead energy efficiency initiatives, manage technical risk, and support capital planning and asset renewal strategies.
**About the Team**
The IIG team is focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. We provide oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, ensuring our health facilities are fit-for-purpose and aligned with national priorities.
**About You**
You're a technically skilled and strategically minded leader who thrives in complex environments. You bring deep expertise in engineering, energy management, and infrastructure operations, and you know how to translate that knowledge into practical solutions that improve performance, safety, and sustainability across healthcare facilities.
You're confident leading multidisciplinary teams, managing risk, and driving innovation. You understand the importance of compliance, asset lifecycle planning, and energy efficiency and you're passionate about creating environments that support excellent patient care and staff wellbeing. You're also someone who leads with integrity, builds strong relationships, and champions equity and partnership in everything you do.
**You will bring**:
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, environmental science, resource management, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications in business or finance are desirable).
- 10+ years in technical leadership roles within complex environments, including 5+ years in senior management.
- Proven experience leading energy, engineering, or built environment functions across multiple sites.
- Strong understanding of building systems, asset lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in capital planning, business case development, and technical risk management.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, and a commitment to embedding equity and partnership in your leadership.
