We have a fantastic opportunity for a **Leading Hand **as part of our newly established road maintenance contract team at HEB Construction in Waikato. This long term contract provides an opportunity to develop our people and to improve the service to our Waikato communities.

**About the role**
- Assisting the Contract Manager and Supervisors in the directing and execution of projects
- Undertake routine roading maintenance activities
- Roading repairs and renewals
- The works include roading renewals, drainage works, kerb & channel prep, footpath maintenance and renewals, boundary to boundary carriageway maintenance, as well as emergency repairs
- Responding to incidents and clean ups on the roads on after hours call out roster
- Team leadership

This is a permanent full-time position. The work is Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday and on call work will be required from time to time.

**About you**:

- Minimum 5 years road maintenance or construction experience. An advantage is experience in a rural environment
- Minimum class 2 licence, WTR.
- Confident excavator operator
- An interest in site records accuracy and overall crew compliance since it will be up to that person to administer the paperwork associated with the site work
- All other essential items like interest in Quality, Health and safety, taking pride in what they do, etc
- You will have an interest in accurate site records and crew admin duties.
