Are you a skilled and compassionate General Paediatrician with expertise in respiratory medicine? Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to children and making a positive impact on their lives? We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our esteemed medical team as a General Paediatrician with a Respiratory Focus. This role is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) with an on-call component.

Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. It weaves the functions of the 20 former District Health Boards into its regional divisions and district offices, ensuring continuity of services in the health system.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide comprehensive medical care to paediatric patients, with a particular focus on respiratory conditions.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of respiratory disorders, including asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and other related conditions.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret results to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications, administer immunizations, and provide preventive care measures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about respiratory conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Monitor patient progress, make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Participate in medical research, contribute to publications, and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in paediatric respiratory medicine.
