Position Purpose:

- To take total responsibility of overall management of the store

Job responsibilities:

- Make decisions regarding the selection and levels of stock
- Set retail prices with reference to demand, shelf life and product mix.
- Ensure that stock turnover is maximized to achieve efficient cash flows.
- Ensure stock control is maintained avoiding over-stocking or under-stocking your store

and to regularly rotate all stock items.
- Ensure stock levels are consistent with the sale of stores and set stock-take procedures

and processes and implement these.
- Maintain stock records and daily financial transactions adequately.
- Develop and amend purchasing and marketing strategies with reference to demand, sales, performance, shelf life and product mix.
- Make decisions and take necessary steps to promote and market the goods and services

provided to the customers.
- Regularly plan and implement site promotions and displays.
- Ensure staff is aware of current promotions and are promoting them effectively.
- Ensure that the staff is aware of in store sales techniques.
- Set and implement procedures to review product expiry dates and manage expiry products.
- Retailers must adhere to the Consumer Guarantees Act always ensure that every

product line has a price tag in display, which is legible to customers.
- Correct any errors or faults in any pricing immediately.
- Ensure service standards are being maintained and targets are achieved.
- Interviewing and selecting new staff when necessary
- Oversee the work of the staff and provide training if and when required.
- Ensure the financial stability of the store by budgeting accordingly.
- Ensure all staff are trained in safety procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
- Make sure all accidents are reported and recorded correctly.
- Handle invoicing, ordering and banking.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

- It is essential that you have at least a NZQA Level 7 degree in the field of business or management

Relevant work experience:

- At least 3 year Experience in retail environment.

Other requirements:

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to work on weekend and public holidays.
