GrainCorp Animal Nutrition is a national animal feed business, based in Hamilton NZ, dealing with corporate and farming customers across New Zealand. GrainCorp Animal Nutrition is an importer and distributor of a comprehensive range of high-quality liquid and dry dairy and calf feeds suitable for a variety of feeding systems and developed to improve on-farm production, reproduction, performance and profitability. We are local at heart with the backing of GrainCorp, one of Australasia’s largest agribusinesses.

Our GrainCorp Liquid Terminals is a leader in the storage and handling of bulk liquids including edible oils, fats, chemicals and liquid feeds. We’re strategically placed shoreside New Zealand, providing efficient loading and unloading of shipping and bulk transport, storage and discharge of a variety of products.

**About the role**
Based in either Hamilton or Tauranga we are looking for a National Operations Manager to lead and manage the operational aspects of our Liquid Terminals and Animal Nutrition businesses across New Zealand.

With 7 direct reports and a wider team of approximately 25, you will need to understand the entire supply chain and ensure plans and processes are in place which minimizes manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital as well as ensuring strategic and efficient logistics processes and necessary service level agreements are in place. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure Safety, Health and Environment standards are maintained and improved, as well as budgeting, forecasting, preventative maintenance planning, and capital expenditure programmes. Other key responsibilities of this position include;
- Ensuring all sites meet GNC and legislative Safety, Health and Environment requirements and expectations
- Fostering a positive Safety, Health and Environment culture within the operation
- Ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient and cost effective for least cost manufacturing
- Ensuring the operational footprint is optimised to meet the demands of the business
- To drive the operational strategy, team motivation
- Implementation of efficient and accurate demand planning and inventory management practises
- Contribution to the management team and be involved in the development & implementation of wider business strategy
- Prepare business plans to support investment

**About your experience**
This role requires an energetic, self-motivated, team player who can commercially and skilfully drive efficiencies and costs across all sites whilst retaining product quality and integrity. Our successful individual will be a hands-on people manager who can engender a positive, performance focused working environment. Importantly the person needs to fully embrace the GrainCorp values and actively participate in promoting these.

Essential Experience:

- Experience in managing multi-site operations in logistics or bulk storage environment
- Strong background in health and safety
- Previous experience managing operational teams remotely
- Ability to manage budgets and set manning levels & rosters that optimise site efficiency
- Proven leader with highly effective interpersonal skills Proven experience in creating and developing preventative maintenance, R&M and capex plans PC, numeracy and literacy skills
