He angitūtanga | About the role
**Additionally the role involves**:

- assessing the need to investigate reported incidents, and working with local DOC management to investigate priority matters
- coaching of DOC rangers warranted to take enforcement action, on the preparation of investigation files to support prosecution recommendations
- maintaining quality assurance of infringement fine and warning decisions
- interviewing offenders, gathering evidence and preparing investigation reports in serious cases
- building strong relationships with Regional and District Police and Fisheries officers, as well as district staff
- providing evidence as part of court processes.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience required
- Experience of operational enforcement and investigation within a regulatory agency.
- Experience preparing investigation files for prosecution.
- Demonstrates successful experience in compliance and law enforcement delivery.
- Experience coaching others in enforcement action.
- Self-driven with experience working as part of a distributed team.
- Full New Zealand driver licence.
- Ability to gain and maintain a confidential security clearance.
