About The Position

This Senior Customs Officer Grade 1 - Fraud Investigations role is a critical part of our Customs Investigations Unit in Auckland. You will play a key role in investigating significant criminal offending involving Customs-related fraud.

As a Grade 1 Senior Customs Officer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of your work, managing your own and others' skills, knowledge, and expertise to ensure a multi-skilled team approach.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in the following key responsibilities:

  • Conducting inquiries, interviewing, and arresting offenders.
  • Applying for and executing search warrants and surveillance device warrants.
  • Compiling legal documents, including requisition, seizure notice, and assessment notice.
  • Handling, managing, and reviewing evidential material in physical and electronic formats.
  • Preparing prosecution files to an evidential standard and giving evidence in court.
